Mr. Zain Omar is co-founder, CEO & President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Omar is responsible for overall corporate strategy, corporate policy, profitability and long-term growth. Mr. Omar has participated in various start-up companies such as of Phoenix Wireless Group, Inc. of Orlando Florida, a pioneer in software switching solutions for the cellular industry. As Director for Business Development, Asia, Mr. Omar contributed significantly to the rapid growth of Phoenix Wireless. He was able to procure and implement Phoenix Wireless’s first project. Phoenix Wireless was subsequently acquired by Excel Communications, which then was acquired by Lucent Technologies. Mr. Omar practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for Reznick, Fedder & Silverman, where he had responsibility for Auditing and analyzing project feasibilities for a variety of firms in multiple industries. He began his career as a Marketing Executive with AMEV, Inc, (now Fortis Funds), a mutual fund management company, in Virginia. Mr. Omar received his BSc degree from University of Maryland and became a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland.
Zarre Omar is co-founder, CTO and a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Omar is responsible for the company’s overall data transmission and communications environment, including design, implementation and operational support of services and Broadband Infrastructure. Mr. Omar is responsible for the company’s creation and/or acquisition of technologies, and production of its content services and products. He has years of experience in the field of switching, data transmission, wireless networks, IP routing and information processing. Mr. Omar is also an expert in telephony applications, holding senior management positions with R-Intel Development (a distributor of Phoenix Wireless Group of Florida), where he was a co-founder and a member of the management. He was primarily responsible for building and maintaining a wireless telephony system for Bangladesh Rural Telecom Authority in Sylhet. Mr. Omar continued supporting Phoenix Wireless during its start-up and merger/growth stages. Mr. Omar has many years of systems experience, including knowledge of a variety of operating systems and environments, LANs and WANs, and interactive, real-time software applications. He received his BSc degree in Physics from Howard University in Washington DC.
Mr. Zaki Omar is co-founder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. His present activities include Corporate Strategy and Market Positioning for the Company. Mr. Omar was responsible for implementing and deploying Broadband, through xDSL technology in Dhaka Cantonment after the Bangladesh Army selected AccessTEL to be the exclusive Internet Broadband Provider for the Dhaka Cantonment area. At that time, xDSL technology was new to the market and up until then had been cost prohibitive for residential users. His deployment method in Cantonment is now a model used by many local ISPs, to connect all levels of clients and has become a standard in the industry. Mr. Omar played a significant role in the company’s strategic decision and planning of shifting from its xDSL network to a NLOS Wireless network. Mr. Omar is an Agriculture and Resource Economist, having obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Rahat Khan serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Company. Mr. Khan is responsible for the overall operations, revenue of the company alongside ensuring proper visibility of the brand. Apart from looking after company’ day to day operation, his major responsibilities include market planning and revenue growth, acquisition and retention of customers, public relations and branding activities, market research and market intelligence activities etc. Prior to joining Access Telecom Mr. Khan worked for 3 years in Airtel Bangladesh Limited leading the Business to Business Sales & Service team. Prior to serving Airtel Bangladesh Limited he worked 5 and a half years as Head of Corporate Key Accounts in Grameenphone Ltd responsible for B2B business planning, branding, sales and service for B2B business. Mr. Khan graduated from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka with Major in Marketing and MIS. Mr. Khan participated in “Conceptual Selling” conducted by Miller Heiman Group, Germany, “Project Management” & “Professional Salesmanship” conducted by Upali Mahanama, former Marketing Director, Unilever Srilanka and various other Sales, Branding & Leadership development trainings in home and abroad.
M. Sadrul Alam serves as the Head of Infrastructure Department of the Company. Mr. Alam’s responsibilities include overseeing the configuration, installation and maintenance of all physical backbone connectivity between the Company’s NOC and POPs. In addition his responsibilities also include overseeing the installation and management of the NLOS Wireless Broadband Network. As the representative of NextNet Wireless Inc. of USA, on behalf of the Company, Mr. Alam successfully installed a Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Wireless Broadband system for Dishnet DSL in Chennai, India. Prior to joining Access Telecom, Mr. Alam spent 5 years at TRIBE Computer Systems as co-founder and Director of Production & Support. Mr. Alam is a graduate of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) University of Dhaka with a BBA and MBA in Finance. Mr. Alam has been trained on V-SAT installation and Management by WSM, Singapore.
Mizanur Rahman Talukdar serves as Head of System & Network Operation Center. His key responsibility includes smooth operation of NOC and relationship management with Key stakeholders. Prior to joining to IG, he served as CEO of Earth Telecommunication Ltd for 1 year and CTO of Agni Systems Ltd. For 11 years. He has completed RHCE and Professional Program in Network-Centered Computing (PNC). He has participated in several training and workshop on WiMAX planning, WiMAX BTS installation, Internet Exchange Configuration, Internet Resource Management, IP Telephony and VoIP Development in home and abroad.
